Final Project – Post-Production Journal
Reflection :: The interview footage that I got really changed the way I was going to do the project. Tons of takes of the monologues and I am still not happy with it, but it is good enough.
What Do You Have :: Interview had some good parts. I picked out a couple to use.
What Can You Say :: Project came together. Not really a paper edit involved. I found the beginning and end and then worked on the monologues. I did more than I used in the final project. I had two more monologues that I left out. Video got too long and they didn’t really add much to the final piece.
Reshoots :: Shot and shot and shot the monologues. Many shoots and many retakes each time.
Evolution :: The original project was something completely different. I was going to interview myself and then do some fancy little pieces to fill in to support answers. It was pretty much just going to be my false self and projects showing off my video skills. It would have looked nice, but I think the final project is a lot more truthful.
Timeline :: The shooting and editing was pretty easy. The big problem was my acting. Took many retries to get it done. I could have kept going in hopes of getting something better, but felt like it was time to finish up. The idea of the project isn’t really a finished project anyway. It is supposed to be the first step on a longer journey.
