Supreme Court Strikes Down Overall Political Donation Cap

Well they did it again. More money can flow from private individuals into federal elections. This just extends what Citizens United has done to the election process. While I can see the argument that spending money is like free speech, I am very worried about the damage that is caused by the power that large donors wield over the political system. The voice of the common people is being drowned out by the money that rich people poor into the campaigns of politicians that support them. It is sad, but it looks like the only way to change things is by changing the constitution. I am guessing that the wealthy would be willing to spend a lot of money to keep that option off the table.
